Welcome to the online home of the artwork by me, Rita Woodburne. Since you've come to the About section I'm assuming you'd like to know a bit about me.

I have been an artist all my life and I get the most enjoyment from working in coloured pencil, but I do dabble in other mediums from time to time such as graphite and pastels. I am an award winning artist as well as being Internationally collected from as far away as Australia and the Netherlands to right here in my own backyard in Quinte region. I do original works and I also do commissions for folks who would like a particular subject immortalized in art. Being a person that likes variety I often have quite a few works on the go at once. Why do I work like this? Well, I work on different subjects at the same time because it keeps them fresh for me which I believe is key to keeping every work interesting to work on and ultimately compelling for the viewer to look at. I find most of the inspiration for my work comes from my love and appreciation of nature and, hopefully, this is conveyed to the viewer.

So What's Happening? Glad you asked... Summer is here and that means that art show season is in full swing! Below are some of the shows that I'll be participating in so if you'd like to see some of my new works or just "talk art" stop by to say hello.
